Is it possible to use standards ETL tools with SAP Business ByDesign?

Dear SCN community,

As you can see from the discussion's subject, this is regarding the possibility of using ETL tools with ByD.

Business Case:

I am in a project to help integrate SAP Business BeDesign with SalesForce.com.

In order to fulfill the integration points, we got to three possibilities, ranked here according to preference (mostly due to cost and effectiveness related to each solution).

1- Using a standard ETL Tool like the one of Informatica or Scrible

2- Using existing add-ons like the one of EAS and ERP logic or Podbox.

3- Do the work manually with all the web services required and so code our way through the solution.

My issue is:

Is it possible to even use ETL tools with SAP Business ByDesign?

I know we can use SAP Netweaver BW to integrate ByD analytics through ODP.

However, I am not aware of the possibility to use ETL tools such as Scrible or Informatica in order to ease the process of integrating ByDesign with external systems such as SFDC.

Moreover, we do not only need analytics, we need to integrate processes such as Field and Service Repair. The rest is master data (Accounts/Contacts/Contracts), which could be considered anaytics with some workarounds.

I am used to integrate SAP ECC with this type of ETL tools, but almost all are leveraging the Netweaver platform, which is not relevant to ByD I think.

So I was wondering some of you know if this is possible and even if some people already have used this kind of ETL tool with ByDesign.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your attention.

Best regards.
