My recent interaction with SAP at SAP Forum Brazil( in Feb) also confirms the same info as Vatsav told.
RDL is in similar lines of BODL and if we are familiar with BODL it should be easy to work with RDL as well.
Hopefully this transition should happen soon.
I believe aim is to bring everything on to common Hana Platform and common UI as well
