Re: Depreciation Method Template

Hello Anant

If you just talk about the percentage, you can actually achieve the results using any depreciation template. As I explained earlier that the selection of depreciation method depends upon the method characteristics which fulfill your requirement.

If you want the straight line depreciation with just fixed percentage, then you can use  template GCTSLSP. In this template, Depreciation is based on the total acquisition cost and an annual fixed depreciation percentage rate which you define when creating the new method. You cannot modify this percentage once the depreciation method has been assigned to an asset. The planned useful life as provided in the fixed assets master data is ignored.

For the declining balance with fixed percentage, you can choose one of the following depreciation methods:

1.GCTDBSP0- Based on fixed percentage and Depreciation ends automatically at the end of the planned useful life. The net book value at that point in time is written down to 0.

2.GCTDBSPC- Based on fixed percentage and Depreciation continues after the end of the planned useful life.

3.GCTDBSPE- Based on fixed percentage and Depreciation ends automatically at the end of the planned useful life. The net book value remains and you can further write it down manually.

The other templates are based on the planned useful life where the percentage would be derived based on the useful life.I don't understand what do you mean by Salvage/Residual value for 5 years.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
Parveen Kumar
