Thanks for the response.

Yes, we can't select Balance sheet Opening Account as this is not allowed for manual allocations.

Hence I raised this question.

I've since tried what you've suggested - cancelling the bank statement and using the migration tool instead.

Below is the outcome...

bank account - debit

Initial data carry forward GL account - credit. Note this is a clearing account. to clear from this account do we then do a manual journal? If yes, then again we can t manually post to the balance Sheet opening account
