You need to create a new asset and then perform the partial transfer for the one laptop value to the new asset. Then you can scrap that new asset.

If you wish to create 100 individual materials for 100 laptops in future, that can be done in using Create Individual materials option in the Purchase order.I can provide more details on this if required.
